Synopsis of the prequel to All Enemies: Yesterday’s Enemies©

Set in the final tumultuous decades of the 20th century, Yesterday’s Enemies© chronicles the early careers of some of the key characters from Robert Hugh McCauley’s first novel, All Enemies. No sooner does the United States triumph in its long Cold War struggle against the Soviet Union than it is drawn into a new conflict - with an even more implacable foe, motivated not by ideological discipline, but fundamentalist fervor.

   ALL ENEMIES

ALL ENEMIES is set in the third decade of the 21st century. This novel of political intrigue, introduces Alexander Morrison, a former high-tech entrepreneur turned independent governor of New Jersey. As the Republican vice presidential candidate, Morrison sparks a constitutional challenge when it is revealed that he is not a native born American, having been adopted at age nine from an orphanage in Kazan, Russia.

When the two nations of his life appear destined for a catastrophic showdown, Alex Morrison is often reminded of how thin can be the line between friend and enemy.

Robert Hugh McCauley was born in Quincy, Massachusetts. He holds degrees from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts. A banker by profession, All Enemies is his first published novel.

Robert McCauley resides in Natick, Massachusetts with his wife and their two sons adopted from Russia.

The author is working on his next novel, the prequel to All Enemies, on his daily commute to work on the train.
